Why did we decide to open a Float centre and incorporate the wellness modalities of Yoga, Meditation and Massage Therapy. "We both floated in Floatation Pods in London and decided we wanted to bring them to Newcastle!" says Lee, co-owner of Sensom.     The concept of our studio and spa has grown over many years. Fundamental to offering a holistic experience in health and wellbeing was providing a venue that embodied a feeling of relaxation, peace and stillness offering high quality Floatation Pods, Yoga, Massage and Meditation. After spending two years looking Lee and Andrew had almost given up on finding the right space in Newcastle.  But as the saying goes – “…let it go and if it's meant to be, it will happen”; and happen it did! Out of the blue they heard about a former hall in the Newcastle suburb of Lambton and set about its conversion to offering 2 Floatation pods, Yoga studio, meditation spacemassage and body therapy rooms. With the addition of the most modern, advanced Floatation Pods available in the market, the studio is a space that is not only beautiful but also delivers a unique experience for you to restore your body, rest your mind and re-connect with your spirit.

Tracey believes that no matter how old or wise you are, yoga can enrich all aspects of your life - mind, body, energy and spirit.  She says 'No two bodies are alike; we are all unique with our own story.  Yoga is our ticket to living a more independent, free and happy life'.

Tracey was drawn to Yoga many years ago, as a natural remedy for dealing with her own health and mobility issues.  “Yoga was, and still is, my healer and my teacher”.

Tracey has studied with Satyananda Yoga, Mangrove Mountain and Living Peace Yoga, Toronto.  She is passionate about helping people regain their strength, flexibility and balance and says "Through Yoga we learn to observe our self, strengthen our mind and body and be fearless in achieving our goals in life".

Cat started practicing yoga in 2013 and was initially drawn to the practice for its physical benefits. As an ex-gymnast, she found that it was challenging and also helped her to bring some of her flexibility and strength back. As it would happen, the psychological and spiritual benefits of yoga soon became undeniable for Cat and this is ultimately what keeps her coming back to her mat.

Cat trained in Purna Yoga under John Ogilvie at Byron Yoga Centre in 2015. She loves to teach yin, flow (with an alignment focus) and handstands. She is passionate about making space for people to be seen and safe during their yoga class, so that this can translate into their everyday lives.
